Overview
Discount behavior in AIQ depends on how your POS or Ecommerce handles discounts. In general, setups fall into one of the following categories:
Mirror discount between AIQ and POS
Use a POS discount ID in AIQ
Create discounts only in AIQ (no POS sync)
Limit discount types (e.g., no cart-level discounts)
Understanding your POS setup ensures discounts apply correctly at checkout and during redemption.

Mirror AIQ Discount ID in POS
For these POS systems, you must create the discount in both AIQ and your POS, then link them using the POS discount ID.
Steps:
Create your discount in AIQ
Create the same discount in your POS
Copy the POS discount ID
Paste the ID into AIQ
Supported POS:
Dutchie POS
Biotrack
Jane POS
POSaBIT
Trigger Partner Platform Reward (Paste POS Discount ID)
For these POS systems, discounts are triggered through the POS using a reward or promotion system.
Steps:
Create the discount in your POS
Copy the POS discount ID
Paste the ID into AIQ
AIQ triggers the reward during redemption

Static Discounts Only (No Cart-Level Discounts)
For these platforms, only simple discounts are supported.
Supported discount types:

Cart-level discounts (e.g., spend X get Y)

Mirror in POS and AIQ (No In-POS Redemption)
For these systems, discounts exist in both AIQ and POS but are not redeemed directly in the POS.

For these setups, discounts are managed entirely within AIQ and do not need to exist in the POS.

Key Considerations
Discount IDs matter: Many POS integrations require matching IDs between systems
Limited discount types: Some POS systems only support simple discounts
Redemption flow varies: Discounts may be applied in POS, AIQ, or both
Cart-level discounts are not universally supported
