Identifying Loyal Shoppers
When AIQ integration is active in your account, you'll see either the Alpine IQ logo followed by the points the shopper has accrued in those systems upon checking in the shopper.
Create Discounts
All discounts/rewards you want to offer in the wallet to shoppers must be created in Flowhub Maui first and then mirrored within AIQ. In order to redeem discounts from AIQ natively in Flowhub Maui you must provide your Flowhub CSM with your AIQ API key located within Settings -> API & Tracking.
Create a discount in Flowhub
In Flowhubs discount settings, scroll to the bottom and check the "3rd party integrations" checkbox. This allows Flowhub to know that you can only redeem the discount via AIQ's "Available Rewards" button within the pending cart.
Once you create your Flowhub discount, navigate to AIQ Discounts and create a corresponding discount. In the Redemption Methods section, select "Trigger Partner Reward" and enter the Flowhub POS Discount ID (also known as the third-party ID) into the POS Discount ID field.
Save your AIQ discount
Repeat this process for all discounts you want to mirror in AIQ.
Redeeming Discounts
Once you have your discounts setup the way you want, a staff member has to simply redeem the shoppers selected rewards. At the top of the Flowhub cart you will notice a points value + the AIQ logo which instantly gives the staff member a visual reference that this shopper is a member and has points. To redeem rewards proceed with the following steps:
When creating a cart, simply select "Available Rewards" button in the right hand column of Flowhub Maui
A modal window will appear containing all shopper rewards available to them
Click Redeem next to the rewards you want to apply
Checkout the shopper as normal
Mapping Flowhub "Groups" to AIQ "Custom Attributes"
AIQ automatically imports Flowhub Groups as Custom Attributes, allowing you to build targeted audiences based on those groups.
Example
If your Flowhub account has a group named Veteran, AIQ will automatically create a custom attribute called Veteran for the corresponding shoppers. You can then use this attribute to:
Create a segmented audience (e.g., "Veteran shoppers")
Apply loyalty discounts to specific groups
Send targeted campaigns based on membership in that group
Flowhub's native loyalty: How does it work with AIQ's loyalty?
AIQ integrates AIQ Loyalty directly with Flowhub POS, allowing points earning, balances, and redemptions to flow into the checkout experience so budtenders can redeem points within Flowhub.
Flowhub's native loyalty program is not integrated with AIQ. If a retailer uses Flowhub Loyalty instead of AIQ Loyalty, loyalty data remains siloed in Flowhub.
When using Flowhub Loyalty, AIQ can still power marketing, but loyalty-based personalization (such as points macros or loyalty-driven automation) will not work, since AIQ does not receive loyalty data.
In this setup, loyalty redemptions occur entirely in Flowhub, and AIQ does not automatically sync or update shopper points balances.
As of Feb 2026, Flowhub does not provide a public API to support direct integration with their loyalty program.
⚠️ AIQ Ecommerce does NOT award loyalty points. Points accrue from POS transactions only. The AIQ Ecommerce store is used for loyalty enrollment, viewing points and rewards, and redemption — not for earning points. The "Enable Loyalty Program" toggle in Ecommerce controls loyalty display and enrollment on the storefront; it does not control whether points are awarded. To pause all point earning, adjust settings on the AIQ Loyalty side directly (not via the Ecommerce integration card).
Additional AIQ Settings
The following additional settings are available on the Flowhub integration card in AIQ. To access them, navigate to Settings > Integrations, locate Flowhub and click on it to open the integration card.
Restrict imports by location ID
Optional: Restrict the Flowhub Location IDs this integration will pull data from.
Use AIQ's last backup
Freezes data from this source at the last audience run and stops AIQ from hitting the Flowhub API for new data.
⚠️ Warning: Do not turn this on unless you are switching POS systems and want to retain existing data.
Send SMS double opt-ins to Personas who purchased after
Sends an SMS double opt-in request to shoppers with a phone number who had a sale on or after the date you specify. Takes 24 hours to trigger.
⚠️ Warning: If this setting is removed after it has been set, it can cause loyalty Personas to be lost if they only became a member through this setting and did not use a signup form. We do not recommend changing this after it is set.
Enroll Personas in loyalty program who purchased after
Automatically enrolls shoppers in the loyalty program if they had a sale on or after the date you specify. Enrolled shoppers earn points for sales on or after that date. Takes 24 hours to reflect.
Loyalty points imported on
If a date is filled in, AIQ will pull in loyalty points from Flowhub up to that date and stop afterwards. Use this in conjunction with Settings > Loyalty > Points accrual start date, setting that to at least one day before the import date.
FAQs
How long does it take before I start to see my POS data in AIQ?
New loyalty shoppers typically appear in AIQ within 3–6 hours during daytime hours. Shoppers who sign up late at night may take 10–14 hours due to less frequent overnight sync cycles. In all cases, you should see data within 24 hours.
When does a shopper receive their SMS opt-in message after signing up at the Flowhub POS?
Within a few minutes of the budtender checking the marketing opt-in checkbox in Flowhub at the time of signup. The SMS opt-in fires immediately when the marketing checkbox is checked — it does not wait for the next batch data import cycle. The budtender's checkbox action is the trigger, not the data sync.
Are Flowhub transaction records synced to AIQ in real time?
No — Flowhub transaction sync is a batch/poll model, not a real-time push. AIQ polls Flowhub's API on a schedule (typically every few minutes), and each pull re-scans approximately the prior 2 days of sales to catch any transactions that may have been missed. There is a short delay between a completed POS transaction and when it appears in AIQ reporting and loyalty calculations.
How can I confirm that the integration is active and signups are being sent?
Look under your Personas page in AIQ. The integration is functioning properly if you see "Flowhub" under the Sourced from column
I am getting an account notification that I have unmapped stores, how can I fix this?
Once you see data coming through AIQ, you must "map" the API key to the store(s) to assign a "favorite store" to the shopper. See How to Map a Store above for directions on how to accomplish this.
Help! I read this and still can't get my discounts to work in Flowhub!
Try reading through Flowhub's help doc for some additional information.
I mapped my Flowhub store but the AIQ Loyalty mapping dropdown is empty — is something wrong?
Not necessarily — this is usually expected behavior. The POS store mapping dropdown and the AIQ Loyalty mapping dropdown are two separate pipelines. Completing a test order populates the POS mapping only; it has no effect on the loyalty mapping dropdown.
The loyalty mapping dropdown only shows values when AIQ capture encounters a RawFavoriteStore string it can't automatically match to an existing Retail Location. If your shoppers are signing up via modern AIQ signup forms, the form submits a store ID — not a name string — and capture resolves it directly to the correct location. No unresolved entry is created, so the dropdown stays empty.
To confirm everything is working correctly, check whether loyalty analytics (points, signups) are already showing data for the new store. If they are, no loyalty mapping is needed — the data is already attributed correctly.
The loyalty mapping dropdown will only populate if signups come in through a channel that submits a raw store name string (such as a legacy form, REST API using a name instead of an ID, SMS, or a file import). In those cases, you'll need to map the raw string to the correct Retail Location once it appears.
