Connect POSaBIT to AIQ Marketing + Loyalty

How to connect AIQ to POSaBIT

POSaBIT Steps

  1. Once in POSaBIT, navigate to Settings in the top nav and click Integrations

  2. Click the blue New Integration button and fill out "Alpine iq - Loyalty" in the Integration dropdown selector

  3. Fill out the API Key & UID from AIQ which you can obtain from API & Tracking.

  4. Enter your store ID number into the Data field and replacing the "#" with the stores's number. This can be found in AIQ under your Retail Stores Settings

  5. Reach out to POSaBIT to enable "Enhanced Customer Data Access"

    1. Enhanced Customer Data Access is required for us to pull in persona information and associate sales with personas. This is not available in your POSaBIT settings until enabled by your account rep.

AIQ Steps

  1. While in POSaBIT, locate each API key provided per Storename and make sure to grant all of the Permissions including

    1. Menu Feed Access

    2. Incoming Orders Access

    3. Venue Data Access

    4. Enhanced Customer Data Access

  2. In AIQ, navigate to Settings > Integrations, search for POSaBIT and click on it to open the integration card.

  3. Add your credentials

    1. Store Name: Name of the store

    2. Key: Obtained from POSaBIT

    3. Relevant market of credential (optional)

  4. Click "Add Credential". You will need to complete this for each set of credentials recieved from POSaBIT

  5. Scroll down to the Loyalty section and check off the box next to Required All users from this source have passed an age gate compliant with my industry.

  6. Lastly, click the purple Connect button in the top right. You have now completed the minimum settings needed to connect your integration!

⚠️ Warning: NOTE: Do not touch any other settings in this integration card without consulting an Onboarding Specialist or Customer Success Manager as they can affect your data and the shopper's opt-in status!

How to Map a Store

  1. Navigate to Settings -> Company Account > Retail Store

  2. Click Edit on the store you wish you map

  3. Under Store Mappings you'll see the POSaBIT symbol

  4. Click on the empty field to the right of the symbol and a dropdown will appear to "map" the key

  5. Click Save settings and you are done mapping the store. Keep in mind this must be repeated for any additional stores that you add to the account.

Signing up for loyalty + opting-in

POSaBIT will send AIQ new loyalty signups and their opt-in status. See POSaBIT's help doc for how to set up which fields you want to capture.

NOTE: If you add "Customer Consent" to your signup form, there will be an checkbox and the shopper will be required to provide their signature - this will opt them into marketing communications on the AIQ side.

Redeeming Discounts

POSaBIT can redeem discounts within the checkout process without having to rely on our Budtender view. Please make sure that all discounts/rewards are created in AIQ first and then mirrored accordingly in POSaBIT.

  1. Create the discount in AIQ.

  2. Mirror the discount in POSaBIT ensuring you use the same name

    1. Use POSaBIT's guide on How to Create and Link Promotions as well as "How to Create and Link Rewards" for a full walkthrough on how to set your your mirrored discount in your POS.

Additional AIQ Settings

The following additional settings are available on the POSaBIT integration card in AIQ. To access them, navigate to Settings > Integrations, locate POSaBIT and click on it to open the integration card.

Enroll Personas in loyalty program who purchased after

Automatically enrolls shoppers in the loyalty program if they had a sale on or after the date you specify. Enrolled shoppers earn points for sales on or after that date. Takes 24 hours to reflect.

Send SMS double opt-ins to Personas who purchased after

Sends an SMS double opt-in request to shoppers with a phone number who had a sale on or after the date you specify. Takes 24 hours to trigger.

⚠️ Warning: If this setting is removed after it has been set, it can cause loyalty Personas to be lost if they only became a member through this setting and did not use a signup form. We do not recommend changing this after it is set.

Sync Personas / Sync Contacts

Enabling this setting allows AIQ to keep shopper records aligned between POSaBIT and AIQ.

  • From POS to AIQ: Updates made to shopper profiles in POSaBIT (e.g., name, email, phone number, or date of birth) will flow into AIQ.

  • From AIQ to POS: If a shopper signs up through an AIQ form and no existing match is found in POSaBIT, a new shopper profile will be created in POSaBIT automatically.

⚠️ Warning: The POS remains the source of truth — to change a shopper's contact info, update it directly in POSaBIT so it flows through to AIQ. Syncing begins from the day it is enabled; existing records will not be retroactively synced.

Sync to relevant market / Sync to state

When enabled, AIQ will only sync contacts that belong to the region or state associated with the given credential.

Loyalty points imported on

If a date is filled in, AIQ will pull in loyalty points from POSaBIT up to that date and stop afterwards. Use this in conjunction with Settings > Loyalty > Points accrual start date, setting that to the following day.

ℹ️ Note: This is a one-time sync. Once the date is set and points have been imported, this setting does not need to be updated again.

Use AIQ's last backup

Freezes data from this source at the last audience run and stops AIQ from hitting the POSaBIT API for new data.

⚠️ Warning: Do not turn this on unless you are switching POS systems and want to retain existing data.

Can I sign a shopper up during the checkout flow in POSaBIT?

Yes! POSaBIT has an in-checkout signup screen that can capture new loyalty & optins for marketing.


How long does it take before I start to see my POS data in AIQ?

Within 24 hours, you should see data populating in AIQ


How can I confirm that the integration is active and signups are being sent?

Look under your Personas page in AIQ. The integration is functioning properly if you see "posabit" under the Sourced from column


I am getting an account notification that I have unmapped stores, how can I fix this?

Once you see data coming through AIQ, you must "map" the API key to the store(s) to assign a "favorite store" to the shopper. See How to Map a Store above for directions on how to accomplish this.
