Variable Tax Rate by Category
Choose which categories this tax will be applied to.
â ď¸ Warning: Categories available for Taxes will be those marked as 'System Category'. See Category Settings for more info.
â ď¸ Uncategorized Products: Products that have not been assigned a category will have every category-restricted tax applied to them. To ensure taxes are applied correctly, assign products to the appropriate category or apply a custom product mapping.
Variable Tax Rate by Product Ingredient
Add a range of values to apply taxes on. Useful if your state has a tiered tax structure based on product ingredients. The starting range should be either 1% or 1mg.
Variable Tax Rate by Delivery Zone
If specific taxes apply only to certain delivery zones, add those zones during tax setup. Delivery zones must be configured first. See Delivery Settings for more info.
â ď¸ Important: Adding delivery zones to a tax means the tax will only apply to delivery orders within those specific delivery zones â it will not be applied to pickup, in-store orders, or delivery orders outside the assigned zones. If a tax should apply to all order types, do not assign it to a delivery zone.
Use Case: Delivery zone taxes are designed for jurisdictions that require tax to be based on the delivery destination rather than the store location (e.g., Colorado). For example, if your dispensary is in Denver with an 8% tax rate but a shopper's delivery address is in Wheat Ridge where the rate is 12%, the delivery zone tax ensures the shopper is charged 12%. Only delivery zones explicitly added to the tax will be affected â not all delivery orders.
Compounding Tax
When enabled, the tax will be calculated on top of other taxes. Check your state's tax regulations to determine if this option should be enabled.
Gross Tax
When enabled: taxes are calculated off the subtotal before any discounts are applied.
When disabled: taxes are calculated off the subtotal minus discounts.
