Texting is a great way to reach your customers, although there can be some hurdles. AIQ has designed our text campaign feature around maximum distribution and deliverability.

Updated over 3 weeks ago

Overview/Background

Text Campaigns help you reach customers quickly through SMS and MMS. AIQ’s texting feature is designed to maximize deliverability while meeting carrier and regulatory requirements such as 10DLC and TCPA compliance.

In this article, you’ll learn how to create a text campaign, configure content and landing pages, preview messages, and understand key texting rules.

“This message has expired”

on the landing page once the message expires.

Send “Add to Contacts” Card

Adds a contact card customers can save.

See Contact Card documentation for details.

Landing Pages for Text Campaigns

The Landing Page is what customers see after clicking the link in your text message.

Use the Visual Designer to build and customize this experience.

📌 See Visual Designer: Emails & Landing Pages for setup instructions.

Landing Page Optimization Tips

To improve load times and conversions:

  • Use only 1–2 images per message or landing page

  • Keep image file sizes reasonable

  • Stick to one main call-to-action button per message

Fast-loading landing pages lead to better engagement.

Previewing Your Text Message

When finalizing content in Step 3 of the campaign builder, click on the Landing Page tab and then click on your landing page where you will see the Test Send option in the top right corner:

Important: Sending a preview costs the same credit amount as a normal SMS or MMS message.

FAQ

What is 10DLC?

10DLC (10-digit long code) allows businesses to send SMS using standard 10-digit phone numbers.

It provides:

  • Higher throughput than unregistered messaging

  • Better deliverability

  • Compliance with carrier guidelines

  • Recognizable local numbers for customers

See 10DLC for Regulated Industries for more information.

How does AIQ determine timezone for TCPA compliance?

TCPA-compliant messaging is restricted to:

8:00 AM – 8:00 PM (customer local time)

AIQ determines timezone using the following priority order:

  1. Customer address on their persona

  2. Favorite store address

  3. Phone number area code

AIQ will not send messages outside the allowed window, assuming customer data accurately reflects their current timezone.

How do double opt-ins work?

By default, AIQ attempts to send double opt-in messages up to four times to ensure delivery.

Do opt-in messages send to carriers with programmatic blocks?

No. AIQ does not send opt-in messages to devices flagged under blocked carriers.

However, edge cases may occur due to:

  • Subsidiary carrier networks

  • Number porting

  • Delivery network limitations

AIQ works with 180+ carriers, so carrier-level filtering may vary.

Can I customize the SMS message text?

If your business is registered under 10DLC, outbound message text cannot be manually edited.

To comply with regulations:

  • You must choose from pre-approved SMS templates

  • Freeform customization is not allowed

See 10DLC for Regulated Industries for more details.
