FAQs

If loyalty points are manually adjusted in AIQ, will they expire normally?

No. Manually adjusted points are treated as gifted points, similar to legacy or boosted points, and do not expire under default expiration logic.

Can I apply “expire all” logic to boosted/gifted points but not legacy points?

No. The Expire All setting applies to all point types.

If I use the “zero points” audience modifier, does it remove all points?

No. The zero points modifier only affects transaction-based points within the specified window.

Example:
If you zero out purchases made in July, only July purchase points are removed. Gifted, boosted, or campaign points remain.

How can I bypass double opt-in for Canadian customers?

Implied consent is automatically shown based on store location logic. This may be hidden if the retailer has any non-Canadian stores.

Can a retailer set a start date for “expire all” logic?

Yes. Expiration respects the start date configured in Loyalty Settings.

Do gifted points reset the expiration window?

No. Only sale-based point events reset the loyalty expiration window.

Does AIQ return points when an item is returned?

No. AIQ does not automatically return points on product returns. This is typically handled by the POS or manually adjusted.

How can I prevent users from earning points until they opt in?

Use Accrual by Opt-In Status in Loyalty Settings.

Customers will only earn points after opting into the required channel(s), and points will not apply retroactively.

If a client switches POS systems while Mirror Points is enabled, will points remain?

Yes — but only if Mirror Points is properly disabled first.

To switch POS systems safely:

  1. Disable Mirror Points on the previous POS integration

  2. Set “Loyalty points imported on” to the desired switch-over date

  3. Import balances one final time

  4. Connect the new POS integration

Once mirroring is disabled, points will continue accumulating normally without overwriting existing balances.
