Astro Usage
In your AIQ account, navigate to Settings > Billing & History > Astro Usage.
Astro Usage lives under Billing & History, which is only accessible to users with Owner permissions.
What this page shows
The Usage page has three sections:
Astro Prompt Usage Cap — your optional spending limit for Astro Prompt, and how much of it you've used this period.
Free Allowance — the free Astro allowance applied to your account, this period and over the life of the account.
AI channel usage — usage broken out by Voice AI, Chat AI, and Astro, for any date range you choose.
Astro usage is measured in credits for newer pricing packages and USD for legacy pricing. How many credits a request consumes depends on the model you're using in Astro Prompt — Fast uses the fewest, Optimal a moderate amount, and Frontier the most. See Astro Prompt for more on model selection.
Astro Prompt Usage Cap
The cap is a ceiling on billed Astro usage for the current billing period. Once your account hits the cap, billed Astro usage stops for the rest of the period.
Field | What it means |
Cap | The credit limit you've set for the period. Shows Unlimited when no cap is in place. |
Used | Astro credits consumed so far in the current billing period. |
Remaining | Cap minus Used. Shows — when there's no cap, since there's nothing to count down from. |
Used % | How much of the cap you've burned through. Also shows — when there's no cap. |
Set a cap
Enter a credit amount in the Set cap (credits) field. The minimum is 0.01, and decimals are allowed.
Click Set cap.
The Cap, Remaining, and Used % values update to reflect the new limit.
Change or clear a cap
To change it, enter a new amount and click Set cap again. The new value replaces the old one.
To remove it, click Clear cap. Astro usage returns to unlimited for the period.
Note: Clear cap is greyed out when no cap is set — there's nothing to clear.
Removing the cap means unlimited billed Astro usage for the period, so if you're watching spend, it's worth leaving one in place.
Free Allowance
Your account includes a free Astro credit allowance. This section tells you how much of it is still working for you.
Field | What it means |
This period | The dollar value of free allowance applied to usage in the current billing period. |
Lifetime used | How much of your total free allowance has been consumed, shown as used of total. |
Lifetime left | What's left of the free allowance. Once this hits $0, Astro usage is billed normally. |
Free allowance is applied automatically. There's nothing to activate or redeem.
AI channel usage
This section breaks usage out by AI channel so you can see where your credits are actually going.
Channel | What's measured |
Voice AI | Minutes handled by your voice agent, and the credits those minutes consumed. |
Chat AI | Resolutions handled by your chat agent, and the credits those resolutions consumed. |
Astro | Astro Prompt credits consumed, plus how much of that was covered by free allowance. |
Change the date range
By default, the section shows your current billing period, noted under the heading as Showing [start] – [end].
Pick a Start and End date.
Click Apply range.
To snap back to the current billing period, click Billing period.
Changing the date range only affects the AI channel usage section. The Astro Prompt Usage Cap and Free Allowance sections always reflect your current billing period.
FAQ
Does the cap apply to Voice AI and Chat AI too?
No. The cap covers billed Astro Prompt usage. Voice AI and Chat AI usage still appears in the AI channel usage section, but it isn't limited by this cap.
What happens when I hit my cap?
Billed Astro usage stops for the remainder of the billing period. Raise the cap or clear it to resume.
Why do Remaining and Used % show a dash?
Because no cap is set. Both values need a cap to calculate against. Set one and they'll populate.
Does the cap reset each billing period?
The cap applies to the billing period shown above the numbers. Used resets when a new period begins.
Can I see usage for a past month?
Yes. Set a Start and End date in the AI channel usage section and click Apply range.
