Astro Prompt

Astro is the AI layer built into your AIQ dashboard — a large language model that routes each request across 7+ years of AIQ retail data. Use it to pull information, build reports, and generate campaigns and flows.

Overview

Astro is the AI layer built into AIQ — a large language model that automatically routes each request to the right model, tool, and data source to answer it. It works across 7+ years of compounding retail data, billions of dollars in transactions from 7,000+ locations, and every integration in your stack, not one system's slice of it. Astro Prompt is how you talk to it.

Grab information using plain language, without digging through reports. Astro can come up with A/B testing ideas for campaigns, build you a revenue report, or help you win back customers with a custom Flow. Everything Astro creates stays a draft until you review and activate it yourself; it never turns anything on. Think of it as a fast first pass, it gets the draft ready, but you're still the one who decides what actually goes live.

What can Astro Prompt do?

There are a few main areas where Astro shines:

  1. Analytics and Insights: Astro can answer questions about your customers, sales, products, and flow/campaign performances. It can also answer questions on a feature or loyalty settings/changes.

    1. To pull analytic details, you must have an analytics package.

  2. Generating Marketing Assets: Want to quickly build a campaign, flow, discount, or audience? Just give some basic information and Astro will have a draft ready for your review in minutes.

  3. Third-party data and your wider tech stack: Astro combines outside sources of data with what AIQ already knows about your business, so you are not switching tools or waiting on an integration to get an answer. Upload files and links so Astro learns from them (see Shared Memory), pull live inventory and product data from your connected POS, and work directly inside third-party systems without leaving AIQ (see Astro Live Browser with Dutchie).

Navigating Astro Prompt

Analytics and Insights

Need to easily snag data about your top customers, the best time to send a campaign email, or see the last person to update an audience? Astro can help! Simply type your question, and let Astro find the answer for you.

Examples:

  • "What are my top selling products in the last 60 days?"

  • "Who was the last person to update my 'Labor Day' campaign?"

  • "How does revenue compare between this quarter and last quarter?"

Generate Marketing Assets

Campaigns

At this time, Astro is suited to assist in building/editing SMS and Email campaigns only. Other types of campaigns will have to be created manually. To get started, either give Astro your campaign ideas, or ask it for inspiration. You can even ask Astro to create AI images to make your content more engaging!

Once prompted, Astro will take it from there, confirming every detail with you as it builds. Once all details are confirmed, your campaign will be ready for review. It can't activate or deactivate the campaigns, though - that step is always manual.

By default, Astro will create campaigns with a 14-day attribution window, with engagement actions based on channel:

  • Email campaigns: email_open and email_click

  • Text/SMS campaigns: text_click and text_click_to_open

If you want a different window, different actions, or filters by product/brand/category/SKU, just ask, and Astro can customize that for you.

Flows

Astro can also build and edit automated Flows for you right from the chat widget in AIQ Dashboard. Instead of dragging nodes onto the canvas yourself, you describe the journey you want and Astro assembles it as a draft for you to review and activate.

What Astro Can Do with Flows

  • Create a new Flow from a plain-language description (welcome series, win-back, post-purchase, abandoned cart, birthday, and more).

  • Edit an existing Flow when you provide its Flow link or campaign ID. (Editing replaces the whole step sequence, so Astro will confirm the full journey you want.)

  • Build multi-step journeys with waits, branches (yes/no splits), and send-time windows.

  • Use any Flow step type, including:

    • Messages: email, SMS/text, native app push, wallet pass push, browser push, and voice

    • Wait (delays between steps)

    • Points: gift loyalty points outright

    • Discount: drop an existing discount into the shopper's wallet

    • Attributes: set/add/delete a custom attribute, or opt a contact out of a channel

    • Raffle and enrollment triggers/splits

What Astro Needs Before Building a Flow

To build the Flow correctly the first time, have these ready. If anything's missing, Astro will ask for it:

  1. Goal: what the Flow is for (e.g., welcome series, win-back).

  2. Who should enroll: the audience or entry condition.

  3. Step sequence: which messages, on which channels, the waits between them, and any yes/no branches.

  4. Re-entry: whether contacts can go through the Flow again after finishing, and after how long.

  5. Flow name.

  6. Start date and end date.

  7. Budget caps: daily and lifetime.

  8. Attribution window: in days.

A few details that matter:

  • Push type: "Push" can mean three different channels — native app push, wallet pass push, or browser push. Tell Astro which one.

  • Date-based enrollment: For conditions like "purchased recently" or "opted in," name the window (e.g., "in the last 30 days"). A date condition with no window matches no one. (A plain "anyone who's opted in" state needs no window.)

  • Lead time before a date: For birthdays/anniversaries/expirations, say how far ahead the message should land (e.g., "send 2 days before their birthday").

  • Images & style: If you want AI-generated imagery, tell Astro the vibe and how many images, or provide your own image URLs.

Audiences

Build a customer audience for you from a plain-language description - no need to configure trait filters manually in the dash.

Points modifier lock: Astro can set up an audience for a points modifier (boost, multiply, or zero), but locking it needs human intervention in the dash.

How It Works

  1. Describe the membership criteria. Tell Astro the traits that define the segment - things like total spend, last purchase date, purchase recency, product/category/brand purchased, loyalty membership, email/SMS opt-in status, birthday month, and similar. The more specific you are, the more accurate the audience will be.

  2. Astro builds the audience. It translates your description into structured membership conditions (spend thresholds, date windows, opt-in flags, etc.) and creates the audience for you.

  3. You get the details back. Astro reports the new audience's name and ID, along with a management link so you can open it directly in the dash to review, rename, or tweak it further.

Examples:

  • "Create an audience of customers who spent over $200 in the last 90 days"

  • "Build a segment of loyalty members who haven't purchased in 60 days"

  • "Make an audience of people who bought flower in the last 30 days but aren't opted into email"

Astro response actions

Hover over any Astro response. A row of icons appears below it: 👍 👎 comment, share, copy. After you rate a response, the icons stay visible.

  • 👍 Helpful or 👎 Not helpful — saves immediately. No form.

  • Comment — opens Feedback if you want to say more.

  • Share — creates a public link to a snapshot of this conversation. Anyone with the link can view it; links expire after 30 days.

    • Share is the whole conversation, not just that message. Copy is only that response.

  • Copy — copies that response to your clipboard.

In the Feedback form:

  • Rating — Helpful / Not helpful. If you already used 👍 or 👎, that’s pre-filled and can be switched if needed.

  • Issue type — required only for Not helpful. Pick the closest match:

    • Incorrect or misleading

    • Incomplete answer

    • Data / analytics error

    • Tool or data service failure

    • Other

  • Additional feedback — optional, but the most useful part. Tell us what you expected instead.

Click Submit. You’ll see a green “Thanks for your feedback” confirmation. (👍 / 👎 alone won’t show that message.)

What happens next

Your rating, issue type (if you chose one), comment, and the response you rated are sent to the AIQ team. You won’t get a direct reply through this form.

Tips for useful feedback

  • Be specific: “It gave me 7-day data when I asked for 90 days” beats “wrong.”

  • Rate the individual response, not the whole conversation — each response is rated separately.

  • 👍 helps too, it tells us what’s working.
