Menu Age Gate
Many states require websites to display an Age Gate to verify viewers meet the minimum age requirements (typically 18 or 21) for regulated industries.
You may already have an Age Gate on your main site, and you can optionally show one when a customer enters your menu as well. Some customers may enter your menu directly from a Google search (skipping your main site), so consider enabling this even if you have an age gate on your site.
Age Gate Timing
Daily age validation (default): The age gate response is stored for an entire day, so customers won't be asked to revalidate if they open your menu in a new tab.
"Remember me for 30 days" (optional): When enabled, a checkbox appears on the age gate allowing customers to opt in. Once selected, they won't see the age gate again for that store for 30 days. After that period, they'll be prompted again with the option to remember them for another 30 days.
To Enable the Age Gate
Navigate to Store > Settings > Orders
Scroll to the 'Minimum Age' section
Toggle 'Show Age Gate'
Optional: Choose whether to require the customer to enter their DOB (required for some states)
Save
The age gate will display the minimum age you've set in AIQ Ecommerce along with your logo.
Enable Option to Require DOB Entry
Some states may require users to input their full DOB into the age gate. Enable Age Gate requires Date of Birth input to enforce this.
Customers will be required to enter their DOB in the format MM/DD/YYYY.
