Staff Discount Redemption Flows

Staff Discount Redemption allows employees to redeem discounts for customers who cannot access their AIQ Wallet. This ensures points are deducted correctly and the redemption is logged under the customer’s Persona in AIQ.

Prerequisites

Before redeeming discounts, ensure you have:

Required Permissions

Discount redemptions can be accessed by users with:

  • Staff

  • Manager

  • Analyst

  • Marketing

  • Marketing + Analyst

  • Operator

  • Owner


How to Redeem a Discount on Behalf of a Customer

If a customer cannot redeem a discount themselves (e.g., they don’t have their phone or the AIQ app):

  1. Navigate to Customers > Personas

  2. Search for and open the desired customer

  3. Click the Discounts & Redemptions tab

  4. Select the available discount

  5. Click Redeem on behalf of the customer

  6. In your POS (if your system allows for it, see Integrations), enter or apply the discount to the transaction

  7. Complete checkout

Once complete:

  • The discount is applied to the sale

  • Points are deducted from the customer’s Persona

  • The redemption is logged in AIQ


Disabling Customer Discount Redemption

If you do not want customers to redeem discounts themselves in the Loyalty Native or Web Apps, you can disable or limit customer redemption access.

  1. Navigate to Settings >Mobile App

  2. App Features > Features > Points & Discounts

  • Hide discount open
    Shows the discount but disables the button to open it

  • Show all discounts
    When toggled off, removes discounts entirely from the app


Verbiage & Misc > Discount Redemption Settings

  • Ask staff to redeem
    Disables customer redemption and changes the button to “Ask staff to redeem”

  • Show "redeem" buttons on the discount card
    When toggled off, shows the discount but hides the redemption button completely


⚠️ Warning:
Disabling customer redemption may increase in-store checkout time, since staff must redeem discounts manually.
