About AIQ’s Integration with Birchmount

AIQ’s integration with Birchmount allows you to offer two powerful loyalty redemption options:

  • Convert points to digital gift cards

  • Use reloadable digital payment cards with Scan to Pay

Together, these features increase loyalty engagement and create stickier customers. Reloadable cards can only be spent at your store, while point-to-gift-card conversion gives customers flexibility in how they use their rewards.

How to Connect AIQ to Birchmount Network

Reloadable Payment Cards

Reloadable Payment Cards let customers pay in-store using a digital card inside your loyalty app, while still earning loyalty points. This improves checkout speed and keeps customers coming back.

Before You Start

  • Your POS must be set up on the Birchmount network for gift cards. Birchmount connects your app to your POS so barcodes can be scanned and redeemed seamlessly.

Setup

  1. Obtain your Birchmount App ID

    1. This is Birchmount’s ID, not your AIQ App ID.

    2. Contact [email protected] to receive your Birchmount App ID.

  2. Add the Birchmount App ID to AIQ

    1. Navigate to Settings > Mobile App > App Features > Features > General: Allow Scan to Pay

    2. Once enabled, the Birchmount App ID field will appear: enter your ID

  3. (Recommended) Incentivize reloads

    1. You can award bonus loyalty points when customers reload their card

    2. Options include:

      1. Points per dollar loaded

      2. Flat bonus points per reload

  4. Configure this under Settings > Integrations > Birchmount

Convert Points to Gift Cards

This feature allows customers to convert loyalty points into digital gift cards that can be redeemed in-store.

Setup

  1. Confirm POS setup

    • Your POS must be enabled on the Birchmount network for gift cards

    • Birchmount handles barcode redemption, no additional fees or setup charges

  2. Enter your Birchmount API Key

    • Obtain your API key from Birchmount

    • In AIQ, go to Settings → Integrations → Birchmount

    • Enter your API key and save

How Customers Use Reloadable Digital Cards

  1. Open the app menu (hamburger icon)

  2. Select Scan to Pay

  3. Create a digital card:

    • Enter the amount to load

    • Agree to terms and conditions

  4. Choose a checkout method:

    • U.S.: Spence or Aeropay

    • Canada: Spence or Stripe

  5. Connect a bank account

  6. Scan the Barcode in-store to pay

How Customers Convert Points to a Gift Card

  1. Open the app menu and select Convert to gift card

  2. Enter:

    • An email address

    • The number of points to convert

  3. (Optional) Enter a friend’s email to gift the card

  4. Click See participating retailers to view eligible locations

  5. Agree to the terms and select Send gift card

What happens next?

  • The customer receives an email from [email protected]

  • The email includes a unique barcode for redemption

  • Customers can also add the gift card to their Apple Wallet or Google Wallet

Redemption Limits

  • Customers can redeem up to $250 per day

  • Redemptions can be completed in one transaction or multiple

  • Minimum redemption: 25 points

Tracking Birchmount Redemptions in AIQ

You can view gift card redemptions and point changes directly in AIQ:

  • Go to Customers > Personas > Persona Detail > History > Points

  • Each redemption will show:

    • The points deducted

    • The resulting points balance for that customer



FAQ

What happens if a Customer deletes or loses their egift card?

If a customer deleted a Birchmount eGift card email, advise to immediately check their Trash or Deleted Items folder, as it may still be recoverable. If not found, email [email protected] to request a resend, ensuring you have the transaction code from your proof-of-purchase email ready to verify ownership.

Steps to Take:

  • Search Email Trash: Look in "Trash," "Deleted Items," or "Spam/Junk" folders.

  • Search Keywords: Use search terms like "Birchmount," "gift card," or the sender's name.

  • Contact Support: Contact [email protected] if the email was completely purged, providing your transaction details.

  • Act Quickly: Many email services permanently delete items after 30 days.
