Connect CanPay to AIQ Ecommerce

The AIQ Ecommerce + CanPay integration lets stores accept contactless ACH payments in-store, for online pickup, and cashless delivery. Shoppers scan a QR code, link their bank, and pay. Grow online orders, boost satisfaction, and drive foot traffic.

How to setup CanPay

Get your CanPay credentials

  1. Obtain your App Key and API Secret

  2. Contact CanPay if you do not have this information.

Enter the Credentials into AIQ Ecommerce

  1. Go to Store > Integrations > CanPay

    1. Enable the integration, enter in your App Key and API Secret

  2. Click Save

Enable CanPay for each Order Type

  1. Go to Store > Settings

  2. Enable CanPay for each order type (In Store, Curbside, Kiosk, etc.) that you would like to accept this payment method.

  3. Save

Pay via CanPay Kiosk

If someone wants to pay in store with CanPay, they can select CanPay on the kiosk, once the order is placed, there will be a QR code that the customer can scan from their phone. They will complete the CanPay payment from their personal device.

Cancelled orders and payment deletion

If a payment is authorized and is cancelled in AIQ ecommerce, we will void the authorization in CanPay.

We will capture payments once orders are closed in AIQ Ecommerce.

FAQs

What is payment authorization vs capture?

  • Authorization (Auth) checks if the shopper has enough funds.

  • Capture actually moves the money from the shopper to the retailer.


How does checkout work for shoppers?

During checkout, we'll automatically detect if a logged in shopper already has an CanPay account. If they do have one authorized for your location, we will automatically log them into their CanPay account making prepayment fast and frictionless.

If a shopper already has an CanPay account but hasn’t yet shopped at your store, the customer will need to login to the CanPay widget one time. After that, the logged in customer will have there login information saved going forward.
